Hello All:

I lived in Erie from 1946 to 1956 and remember the Mighty NYC four track mainline.

I also remember when Mr. Al started to streamline the mains down to two mains with many passing sidings.

The passenger mains were the ones saved. A neighbor was a tower op and in the summer evenings I was always invited into the various towers and enjoy all the action.

There was a freight yard as I recall just east of Greengarden Blvd. that had a line down to the Lake Erie area downtown. The Pennsy also serviced that area as well.

Guess the biggie was when Ringling Bros. Circus came to town in their four show trains. That was always a big deal in Erie.

Anyone else remember the NYC in Erie?

Best,
