It's a moot point, given the service there stopped when the Dragon Barge service stopped in Maine. They haven't sent any cars down there in a couple years.

Then there's the issue that apparently the ROW in Millis is privately owned and not by MC, BCLR, PC or CSX.

That was brought up a few years ago on the bay-colony-millis-line-t157028-570.html Bay Colony Millis Line thread. While the physical property may be owned by Peter Harkey, there appears to be a railroad operating easement in place that was reserved at the time the property was sold by the railroad (probably Penn Central, although I can't find documentation of the date). Ownership of the easement passed from PC to Conrail, to CSX. Conrail granted BCLR permission to use the easement; CSX continued that grant. Presumably the interest in the easement was conveyed to MC as part of their purchase of what was left of BCLR.

Right, it was me that brought it up. So if MC abandons service, I would think any "rail trail" plans would be complicated by said easement and the fact that the property is not actually owned by a railroad or the commonwealth.

It appears MC has removed the brush from the mills line. Does anyone know if anything big may be in the works?

Nothing in the works as far as I know. There were hints that the town complained about the derelict looking right of way and that's why the brush cutter went up there. Maybe it was pressure from MDOT too.

I believe something is going to happen for millis. The line is littered in orange marking tape after the recent brush cutting. I posted pictures of the lines current conditions in the Facebook group The Rails or Mass

Can't find that Facebook group. Got a link?

Flagging may be just be delineating property lines for brush cutting limits.
