EAST STROUDSBURG — A unidentified man sleeping on train tracks behind Kmart was struck and killed by a freight train on Sunday afternoon. Stroud Area Regional Police Cpl. Scott Raymond said the two men operating the train told police they saw the man on the tracks and tried to slow down around 4:15 p.m. They applied the brakes and sounded the horn several times but the man did not move. He died at the scene.
