does anyone have any information on this shortline that runs from bruce mississippi to out side of coffeville, mississippi. the track is covered in grass and it looks like a train has not been over the line for a while. wondering will this line start back up?

As far as I know, no final resolution but abandonment has been discussed. If I understand correctly Waterloo Ry (a CN/IC subsidiary) owns about 11 miles of line between the CN proper and the M&SV at Bruce Jct. That segment is embargoed account track conditions, essentially isolating the M&SV which is owned by Weyerhaeuser. Weyerhaeuser has apparently decided not to try to buy the segment from IC/CN, and in fact was considering selling off M&SV and other lines it owns.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., May 29, 2008 — As part of its ongoing portfolio
restructuring, Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY) today announced that
it is exploring strategic alternatives for its Westwood Shipping Line
and four regional short line railroads.

The Company's four short line railroads are the DeQueen & Eastern;
Columbia & Cowlitz; MSV; and Golden Triangle railroads. Weyerhaeuser
primarily uses the short line railroads to source mills in Arkansas,
Oklahoma, Mississippi and Washington.
