When it arrived it was being used as a parts donor and was already missing some power assemblies and other various parts. I would like to say I recall it being sent to Waycross or Huntington for the RCO shove platform conversion.
no, those were all retired -7's...

Any pics of these units after being converted to shoving platforms?

basically they plated up all the radiator openings, intakes and dynamic brake vents

I cant believe they painted 9136 and 9151 in YN3, seems like a huge waste of money

here is what the EMD versions (ex-GP40) look like

basically all they did was slap the electronics in them and renumber them

although they did plate over the dymanmic brake blister and remove the dynamic brake fan

Thanks Nip :-)

Do you know whether or not the 9119 is still in that 'pumpkin' scheme?

I believe it is

and last time I was down at Waycross (February) there were 3 or 4 GP40's still in Orange sitting in the dead line, along with most of the C30-7's and some other GE junk

Much to my surprise, there was already an appropriate thread for my question...from 2005.

I'm going through my notes from some old railfanning trips (I've fallen pretty far behind) and noticed that I wrote down that I saw CSX 3305 from a trip into Cleveland in June 2010. This would have been from Quigley Road, running along the tracks behind the Steelyard shopping complex. This struck me as strange, over two years later, and internet research can't locate 3305 after it was in the deadline in Selkirk in 2001. Is it possible some piece of this locomotive bearing its old reporting marks wound up in Cleveland 11 years later? Does anyone have any further information on the ultimate fate of 3305?

Searching to the end of the Internet took me to a post on Trainorders from August 2001, 3305 was sent to Midwest Steel in Youngstown, presumably to be scrapped. I suppose this makes a Cleveland, OH appearance of some piece of it in 2010 plausible but still improbable. Perhaps its cab or hood was sold? Anyone know anything about the operation near Steelyard?
