In the mid 1990s, I rode on a freight train pulled by No. 18 all the way from Arcade to Reisdorf Bros. Mill. They attached a passenger coach on the end of the train in lieu of a caboose, thereby allowing room for any railfans who may have wanted to come along for the ride. It was a unique experience, to be able to ride the whole length of the railroad on a steam-powered freight train. It gave one a sense of what a regular working day must have been like on the A&A back in the 'good old days'.
