Train dispatchers have 8 hours shifts. By Federal Hours of Service regulations, they can only work 9 hours in a 24 hour period and must have 15 hours off between shifts. There are no Hours of Service regulations for Chief or Assistant Chief Dispatchers.
Train Dispatchers get overtime after 8 hours on duty per shift or after 40 hours in a pay week.
