Harry Potter fans waited for hours on Monday at a train station in Scotland to see and photograph the iconic Hogwarts Express steam train as it passed through. Just as it was rumbling by, however, a commuter train decided to block the view. The “devastating” (yet hilarious) photobomb was captured in this below 1-minute video.

Unfortunately, only one of the two platforms ended up getting a view of the train — a ScotRail train (the 18.26 to Edinburgh) passed through at exactly the same time from the opposite direction, completely ruining the view for half the attendees. By the time the ScotRail was gone, so too was the Hogwarts Express.

So, pray tell, which classic locomotive did they hang the "Hogwarts express" logo on? Does it also masquerade as the "Polar Express" for these same clueless brats? Maybe also as "Thomas the Tank Engine", even though it's obviously NOT a tank engine? Just how far does British misappropriation of historical locomotives go these days???

This my childhood in 4 minutes. They really made this attraction truly immersive. The movement of the train beneath you, the visuals, the pepper's ghost effect for 9 3/4, Hedwig's animatronic....What's even better is the blank stares of confusion you get when you ask ANY of the cast members where platform 9 3/4 is. It's so consistently immersive. They really brought it to life.
