Thanks for that info. The Ardagh Group bottle manufacturer in MIlford, which I thought was a rail customer (and the only one in Milford proper), closed up shop this past spring.

Foxboro Terminal is only getting Wine as of now how long that will last IDK.
At another time the used to get other loads like boxcars of kitty litter...

Visited the north end of the MBTA-owned line at Milford, MA on Thursday 1/17/19 and saw that the MBTA has installed a new turnout about halfway between Depot St and S Cedar St (the crossing in the distance. Formerly the old turnout stub that used to connect to G&U was 50-100 yards south of S Cedar St where the red "oval" is. Switch stand has yet to be installed for the new switch and the narrowness of the RoW here suggests a track coming off the turnout will parallel the existing track for maybe a 100 yards. The question is what is going on here - is this the new connection for a G&U build-out from Hopedale to Milford to service Garelick Farms and BlueLinx Building Supplies? We'll have to wait and see...

The MBTA owns and maintains the branch, all the way out there. It used to be very common to see new ties and or rail installed for no apparent reason. However, there was a reason. Quite often the T's Track Department would take gangs out on the branch to train/practice doing work, and at the same time it was an upgrade. I'm not sure if this is just another example of that old practice, or if there's a bigger plan.

Soon as that switch is cut in and the G&U upgrades their track all of 735 work will go to G&U.

Hi CSX Engineer 98, sorry for the simpleton question (I'm not too fluent in RR speak) - what exactly is the Walpole B735 job?
Does that mean the G&U would take over servicing of a customer or purchase the line? Thanks!

I visited the G&U area in Milford and saw a sign for motorists posted at the Main St crossing next to Pinz Bowling - looks like the sign maker doesn't use spell-check!
Then I went over to the vacant area between the the Vernon Grove Cemetery and So Cedar St and witnessed a Komatsu shovel doing some excavation work - looks like newly stacked ties have been staged (?). Also looks like the truck scale at G&U Logistix warehouse is installed and a bundle of ties have been dropped off at the recently rehabbed Hopedale St bridge. So despite the winter weather, work continues!
