I found some interesting info on the FPA/B-4's, production owners and such but I can't seem to find a few details about them:

1) On Alco FA-1/2/4's where if they were equipped was the dynamic brake located and its spotting feature?

2) Where the FB's equipped with dynamic brakes also?

EMD's make it somewhat obvious on all there units, Alco's you kind of have to look.

Thanks, SD Shortline

AFAIK, on all the FA/FB units the typical dynamic brake grids were on the top of the roof in the center of the carbody. They looked virtually identical to the same grids used on hood units (also on top of the carbody), but were built into the roof of the units (not on a little box). Same for the PA's.

Hope this helps,
