Man Claiming To Be An FBI Agent Halts Train

Post by Bill D » Sat Dec 21, 2013 10:13 am

From CBS NY:
A man claiming to be an FBI agent pulled the emergency brake and halted a Metro-North train in Westchester County early Saturday.

The man pulled the emergency brake at near the Tuckahoe station around 2:40 a.m., Metro-North said

Not much information, but it appears that in addition to the FRA oversight, we now have vigilante "FBI agents" making sure that the Metro North trains slow down. Probably fell asleep and missed his stop. Hopefully the police will catch up with him.

That's funny, the Journal News said he pulled the emergency door release and the train was delayed 25 minutes. http://www.lohud.com/article/20131221/NEWS02/312210038/Man-claiming-an-FBI-agent-flees-Metro-North-train-Tuckahoe?nclick_check=1

I'm going with the Journal News on this one.

FBI? Shoot, if you're going to make up the name of an agency that would have little jurisdiction, why not go big time? Use the CIA as a cover, or perhaps Mossad. You can't be a half-wit amateur Tom Clancy.

(a bit of humor here, folks - In no way am I suggested doing any of the above - only trying to suggest the utter foolishness of the above...)

I'm reminded of the time on Reno: 911 when a john at a brothel pretended to be an agent from the Better Business Bureau.
