Critical after jumping from moving train

Post by DutchRailnut » Sat Nov 16, 2013 6:06 pm

A Manhattan man suffered critical injuries when he jumped from a moving Metro-North Railroad express train in Westchester County Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The 35-year-old apparently used an emergency-exit handle to open a door as the train was passing through the Harrison Station on the New Haven line at about 1:15 p.m

Metro-North should sue the guy for damages, even minor ones due to a delayed train and an investigation. No way should the railroad be liable for anything.

Unfortunately MNR will most likely have to pay this guy's medical bills, damages and therapy. The world we live in, lawsuits for everything. RR will be found negligent for having emergency doors that open while train is moving, or insufficient signage or no announcements made that said not to jump from moving train. The public complains about raising fares but a jury will give this guy and every one else who falls in the gap while on their phone a couple $100K.
Hurry up and wait at the signal!

Hey, NJT's Arrow's have big signs that say "DANGER! DO NOT GET OFF MOVING TRAIN" by the doors, perhaps MNCR now has to stoop to that level!
