There was Dining Car 1890 on NY 25A, just east of Nichol's Rd, Stony Brook.

The last powered MP54 on LI is maintained as a Chamber of Commerce on Rt.110

The Cury Club in Setauket has a boxcar and a heavyweight observation.

I do believe that you're thinking of Rt 112

Eastbound LIE between NY 231 and Commack Road used to have a Railroad Car at the rest area.

Yes, that looks like the one that used to be on the LIE (I-495) until they built a brand new facility.
