Does anyone know the whereabouts of these units which were traded for the former Conrail SD80MAC's? Are they in yard or local service?

My understanding is they are being used in and around the Huntington locomotive shop until they fail - then they will be placed in line for the SD40-3 rebuild program.

It's a patch job. I'm pretty sure they don't want their competitor's logo on their equipment.

I suspect it isn't paint - Vinyl lettering, I suspect the NS logos that were removed were also vinyl. Vinyl - easy, quick and cheap.

These units were never put into service by CSX. They were sent to Wabtec Motive Power in Boise Idaho to be made into SD40-3 Units.
