Wow, ah Virginia...This is obviously a dumb idea.

"Meanwhile, the VRE has nixed discounts to children and the elderly. Probably just as well to get the frail folks who might not be able to take a bullet off the train with all the guns that might be coming aboard." :-D

Yes, and they will restore the FRC to 30 minutes. I was pushed to 60 minutes a few years ago

And what is it about the VRE's trains that will drive mad people who've passed the background check required to get a concealed-carry permit? Is there something inherently more dangerous about them than anywhere else where guns can legally be carried?

If guns are legal, there's nothing special about trains. If guns are illegal... there's nothing special about trains either.
