Did the Erie Railroad ever rn obs cars like the Lackawanna did with the Tavern Lounge or not? Someone told me that they never have an obs even on the Erie LTD from Jersey City to Chicago.

As far as I know, obs cars were not used for regular passenger service. The Erie would put a drumhead on the rear car of the train; whatever car that might be. The few heavyweight obs cars that the Erie did own were used as business cars for the railroad. Might want to post this in the Erie-Lackawanna forum to get another (probably more informed  ) response.
