Back in the late 50s and 60s I used to hear engineers and conductors talk about the qualification tests they used to have to take before they could assume their title/job.
The questions were about running equipment, the mechanics, and the road's geography. They would talk about questions like, "At Newark Station, what was the location of the fence that separated the tracks?"
Question: Do any of those test questions exist to this day? If so, what might some of the questions have been? Any place to acquire these great relics?

"Passing points, New Jersey Cut-off Eastward freight trains, being handled by two engines, when clearing at Blairstown and Greendell, may hold main track and put first class or other trains through sidings."
