South at DCS LAKEWOOD 10:53 AM

Many of the crossings in town are now only tripping when the train is on top of the road.

It's possible. I too have heard that the chalk stuff is by actual employees.

Some of my favorite"graffiti" I see now is a fat creature named Tubby. Usually with the words ALWAYS ON TOUR lol

The Facebook group(s) seem to have far more posters in them, and it is far easier to share pictures, videos, and other media, on the Facebook groups than here.

I prefer this website. Mainly cause Facebook tracks alot of information about its users and I'm not too fond of that.

Quick reminder that the Jamesburg Bridge is almost done to this week might be your last chance to see them run on the old route before they start running out of Jamesburg again.

My guess is they will eventually get around to replacing the Wemrock rd. bridge, raising it 3 feet or so since the clearance is only 9'10", and widening the road a good 5 feet or so, raising the track on each side going back maybe 500 feet. A significant amount of work.
Red Bank - Farmingdale will need to be used during that time.

If that's what they are gonna do then maybe. Is there any requirement that they would have to all that instead of just getting a new pre built bridge and putting it there?

No sense in getting a new bridge unless they're going to raise it. Can't lower the road; it's already the lowest spot under the bridge. If they are putting in all that effort, might as well widen the road too, it's really tight, maybe 16-18 ft, especially because of the sharp turn directly adjacent.
Gotta go back a hundred feet for each foot height increase, that changes the grade by about 1%. Also the only reason for the park to get involved.
The existing bridge handled K4s which were 40-50 tons heavier than the current traction. It hasn't degraded all that much, doesn't need to be replaced from a rail traffic point of view. Just to keep from getting hit.

Bowne Av and Monmouth Ave in Freehold looks like they are to be replaced per a post on the FB group. Starting this week from what it shows.
