I am going to be in Daytona Beach during the last weekend in March and will only have Friday morning to railfan. What can I expect and where's the best place to go? I am stay at a Residence Inn in Daytona. Are FEC employees friendly to folks who respect the railroad's private property?

Florida East Coast has been "tinkering" with their schedules for the past
few days but I think you have a reasonable chance of seeing a train or two in each direction.
I have not had too much contact with FEC people but I think they are a
reasonable bunch.
As I have stated before, stay off railroad property and the FEC takes
that very seriously too and be safe. Enjoy yourself and have a good day.

behind the sunshine mall on south ridgewood near reed canal blvd is a good place. its in south daytona. the back parking lot comes right up to the tracks, with in probably 20ft. its a good place to watch them rush by but not much action during the day. late evening seems to be good. most everything in daytona happends at night.
