Was a sad situation. The heritage operation hired a paid manager who was quite well compensated and things went downhill from there. Supposedly the board, the manager, and the town all got very worked up against each other and eventually the town did their best to shut it all down and move it out, which eventually happened. Reminds me of the ITM musuem in Noblesville that had a similar beef between town and museum, and a lot of stuff was scrapped after they were forced out. Even a rare EMD switcher that was "saved" was run into a bridge by the trucker carrying it and the cab was a mess.
Responsible governance at a mueseum (IE not looking like a scrap yard and keeping the locals happy) is really important.

Amtrak is proud to announce a new train to Florida that doesn't stink: The Floaterian. An all-star just like Babe Ruth.
