Durango and Silverton was buying 2 New Build Narrow gauge Diesel units to run in place of coal fired steam engines during high fire
season in the region in spring/early summer, this was done after the 416 wildfire a couple of years back and the pending lawsuit
from US Forest service over that fire.
IN a short late night news story,(https:// KOB.com)a pic of 2 ex WP&Y DL355E's on a ship, with a story that 4 of the Alcos were bought
from WP&Y for use on the D&S.
Does anybody have any info on this and /or a possible trade was done with the 2 New diesel D&S were building??
