Where was the connection to Cushing Stone located on the West Shore? Does anyone recall how it was serviced & by what short jobs? Did the company use the same 'enterprise' hoppers for ballast at Cushing as it did at Trap Rock on the B&A?

Cushing was served via the West Shore which was abandoned and torn up
by CSX a few years ago. In the Conrail days it was served by one of the
local freights out of South Schenectady Yard.

It was only a couple miles from where the WS is used as the frieght main around Albany. This quarry had it's own rare EMD model 40 locomotive, one of 11 built.

A previous post indicates Cushing was served off a portion of the West Shore that was abandoned. This places it west of 'RJ'/CP-10 (in NYC days). What MP was the switch for this industry & what agency did the billing for it. My mind is a complete blank; I can not visualize this location.

Was at Cushing Stone in the fall of 1987. If recall is correct, the facility was across the Mohawk River from Amsterdam, NY.

Only 11 Model-40's were built!
and only 6 are known to still exist..(one of them being the Cushing Stone unit)

If I recall correctly, it is now privately owned.
