When did they sell off the old SW1? I don't remember seeing that one. I do remember seeing the red and white SW9. At least I think it was an SW9. :)

NICTD 1000 is a former GTW unit? Sure didn't know that.

I always knew the South Shore had several diesels in the past. But seeing them all listed together on one page, I never realized that they had so many. Good info. :-D

SS never had many diesels until the C&O control, mostly they just owned the SW1 while running electric freight.

notice BNSF is talking about electrification? Who know, trends can reverse...

at least the SS has an automatic head start on that..

IC sold their electrics when they went diesel early, they had a monster 4 truck looking similar to the NS steeple cab 4 truck electric. power baybee

You might be confusing the CNSM/OE four-truck 600v steeple cabs with an IC diesel-electric with similar-looking carbody and trucks, but was actually a diesel-electric Baldwin center-cab transfer unit, also owned by EJ&E. If you have a copy of Alan Lind's "Limiteds Along the Lakefront" there's a pic in the freight section.

I have Limiteds along the Lake front and not confused -said confuscious-

We're on the right track just the wrong derail....

Does anyone know when #601 was of the property? I'm wondering for the era I am modeling.
