Sounds like the 1741 will be going through the painting process over the next few weeks. Well done to Cory, Ryan, Wayne, and all others involved with the project in getting the unit back to its pre GTI appearance.

Too bad they couldn't redo the eyesore that 255 has become or the mismatched passenger cars they recently acquired.

The freight house siding in N. Conway is in the process of being rebuilt, I think the plan is to reconnect the siding back into the one in front of the station, I guess this project was over 10 years in the making. Eventually this will include one of the sidings down in Conway being extended but that project will be in conjunction with the Flying Yankee project & the function facility (currently in the design phase?). The goal is to be able to accommodate longer trains without the need to make extra moves or run two engines (one on each end). The tracks between North Rd and Haven Ln have been cleared of brush, they will be using that section for car storage, (possibly the ballast hoppers?).

Looks like 1741 has been repainted back into her bluebird scheme. Saw a picture of the roof of the unit, looks like the fan on the dynamic brake blister has been removed and plated over. Does she not have dynamics anymore?

B&M removed the DBs from some of their locomotives in the late '60s and early '70s when they were in their anti-DB era. (That's also why they ordered their GP38-2s and GP40-2s without DB.)

I must have missed something, why are there no railfan weekends anymore?

The only events they host now are the Pumpkin Patch Express trains and the Santa Clause Express trains. All the other events they used to have, were canceled due to Covid and they never brought them back; that includes the dining service.

We got to be thankful for the 470 Club for keeping the railfan interests alive
