It's already been restored. Gladstone branch is bus only at this point.

Why does it take NJTRANSIT so much longer to restore service from downed wires than it does Amtrak?

Because the corridor doesn’t have any trees falling on it and a downed wire is a single location, whereas the M&E has trees all around it and will have multiple locations with wires being down?
Is this a serious question?

This tree problem is nation wide and needs major removal of possible trees.

All trains along M&E and MBL lines are currently stopped due to “police activity” at Broad Street. Anyone know what’s happening?

9th Ave (Edit: a typo, should be 7th Ave) & Roseville Ave sure sounds like the M&E.
Fair use quote: "reports indicated two people may have been trespassing on an overhead signal structure and been “injured by electricity,” leading to them falling onto the tracks, according to officials."

25 kV is not something to play with.

What's been up with the NEC/NJCL on Saturday on Sunday? I heard a few trains originating out of Jersey Ave with first stops at Rahway on Saturday, all NJCL train numbers. I saw a bunch of eastbounds bypassing Edison too, presumably to turn at Jersey Ave. KN717 (daily Amtrak maintenance train) made a trip to Rahway at 9PM on Saturday IIRC.

Didn't hear anything about origination on Sunday at Jersey Ave but I did see at least one bypass.

I didn't see any alerts about the NJCL but I think I read somewhere there was a switch problem at Union (could actually be Graw)

Woops, just remembered someone was screaming about it on Reddit at the same time:

I didn't see anything about cancellations, short-turns or reroutes so I don't know what role Jersey Ave played.
