mitch kennedy wrote:Wow, John, you DO get around.. appreciate your photos of the whole scene! Quite the crossing light rig at Cross Keys Rd, huh? Is the little custard stand (the cat and the fiddle) still there? Winslow looks less haunted now since its all grown in..(except for the corpses of the abandoned locos)... here it is with my brand new shiny Instamatic-eye-view in March 1970.. quite a difference!
Thanks Mitch, but they're not my photos. They're my friend Jacob Rink's. I taught him well, haha!
I had work and missed the 502...
Latest news is the lead engine is still on the ground as of 09:00 this morning. No further info.

P.S. Nice shot at Winslow Junction with the station still there. Hard to believe in its glory days that a train went through there every 7 minutes!

Info courtesy Paul B. from the SJRA Yahoo Group-
NS 506 coal train has been emptied by Co-Generation in Deepwater and may run either tonight or tomorrow as NS 507. Power will be NS 7670, 8308, 1091 and 7563. 8308 has some caution tape on the rear steps on it's fireman's side, and it looks like it's auto drain may have kicked in. I'm guessing it will be "dead in tow".

The first NS 502 of 2015 went south in the early morning hours but only made it to Albion, where a draw-bar broke roughly mid-train. CA15 was dispatched from Camden to bring the north segment of the break back to the Magnolia Siding and take the shop car to Pavonia.
