Well that sucks about 9017....

Pretty sure the CPKC scheme is intended either for ex KCS units only, and/or to keep some former KCS folks from being too sour by having a few floating around. With all apologies to KCS, no real reason otherwise not to keep repainting CP power as CP power.

This would be demonstrably false, given that almost every unit I've seen in the new scheme are CP lettered power, with the exception of the one Soo Geep I've seen posted elsewhere.

Perhaps on the first point. The rest still remains supported by the fact they keep churning out Canadian Pacific paint 3/4 of a year after the first CPKC unit was done.

My guess is it was a contractor screw up. Both 9011 and 9017 were repainted into CP colors, while CPKC and their other contractors are repainting power into the new CPKC scheme. Either way 9017 being repainted from the BAR scheme is still a big loss.
