In going to add the most recent CSXT HU, I realized I forgot to post the one revealed last month for the Chicago & Eastern Illinois: CSXT 1877.

UP and CSX seem to be very tight about the use of the trademarks of their predecessors. I’ve noticed that model manufacturers have asterisk and a note on the bottom of the ad stating that the model in Monon is a CSX Corp. licensed product, same also for something like a C&NW model showing approval from UP. If a trademark is unused after a certain period, then it becomes fair game. I noticed that Pan Am renewed the MEC pine tree logo and the B&M minuteman logo about the time they painted the two old GP9s in each of the above schemes. I’m sure the reason was to keep the trademark active. When previously had Mr. Mellon ever really cared about public opinion?

The 21st, and apparently final heritage unit goes to Pan Am Railways? April Fools is a bit early..

Interesting choice to number it 1981 [GTI creation], and not 2006.
