alstom needs to sell its rail operations in this part of the world .
hopefully it wont make too much difference to rail operaters in the 2 countries .

United owns Goninain loco works , which builds GE locos under liscence in Australia .

some have commented that this probably means all new locos in New Zealand will be GE .
