ALP-46 pulling old Amtrak cars on NEC?

While pulling into the parking garage in Elizabeth this morning (around 9:15a), I saw an NJT ALP-46 pulling about 10 Amtrak Metroliner coaches. What gives? Was this related to the LIRR/Amtrak crash this morning at Penn Station?

NJT '46's are frequently used on Amtrak Clocker service, usually pulling 10 or 12 Amfleet cars.

Actually, all of the Clocker trains were over 1 hour late....they left Philadelphia especially late today (not sure of the cause)
