Does Metro-North and the LIRR use Amtrak's Air-Brake & Train Handling rules? I appreciate any info. Please keep in mind I'm a freight engineer from the midwest with no clue about commuter ops.

Metro-North and the LIRR have their own Operating Rulebooks and Brake and Train Air Signal Rulebooks. They don't even share common versions of each, in spite of the fact that they've been subsidiaries of the same authority for 22 years.

(And before I get flamed for suggesting that MNR and LIRR should be using the same rulebooks, that's NOT what I'm saying - that's a different question altogether. I stated what I stated. No unwritten inferences should be taken therefrom.)
