The Adirondack Railroad ran a Utica-Remsen-Utica train on Saturday, February 17th named the "Cabin Fever Limited." The trip left Utica on the advertised time of 11:00am. Once in Remsen, passengers detrained for approximately one hour to enjoy a bonfire, hot chocolate and s'mores. The Depot was open as well. The power was No. 3573, built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1977. It was a blustery day with temps in the mid-20s.

New England Rail Excursions (NEREX) ran a railcar charter on the Adirondack the weekend of May 3-5, including a run from Thendara to Tupper Lake and back on the 5th. I videoed the group as they summited the line at Big Moose en route from Thendara to Beaver River on Saturday the 4th (both northbound and southbound). Here's my video:

I rode on Adirondack's first Thendara-Big Moose train of the season which rolled out of Thendara on May 25th.

This video includes scenes in Thendara's station and yard as well as various points of interest while on the road. The concluding segments include views inside the cab of No. 3573, including an interview with the engineer.

On June 5th, the Adirondack Railroad ran a tie train with nine gondolas from Utica-Tupper Lake where a major restoration project is underway involving the reconstruction of the wye and siding (also passenger platform work). I videoed the train at locations between Utica-Thendara including:

1) crossing the Mohawk River, Utica
2) on Remsen Hill, Prospect
3) Forestport Station &
4) Thendara (where an unusual move of the caboose occurred).
