Hi guys,
I´m Markus from Germany and need your opinion on some production numbers I found in a history forum.
"Lendlease to Russia:
Locomotives
(all types)
Soviet Production 442
Allied Deliveries 1966
Total 2408
Allied Proportion 81.6%
Rail cars
(all types)
Soviet Production 2635
Allied Deliveries 11,075
Total 13,710
Allied Proportion 80.7% "
Based on my experience with railroad issues and a little google search on german production figures the number 442 as the total number of locomotives produced in the USSR during the war can´t be right.
By the way: How many locomotives were made in the US each year before the war? And is there a better forum for this question? I did not find one on historic trains. THX!
