As many companies have experienced, the railroad is feeling the impact of the struggling economy, and the situation has prompted BNSF to store locomotives at locations across its network until the volumes pick up again, BNSF spokesman Joe Faust said. Senior Special Agent Steven Wells with BNSF Police said the damage included broken windows and broken lights, and someone also set off fire extinguishers inside some of the locomotives.
