The article in question, http://www.kinglyheirs.com/NewYorkState ... ight1.html , was written over 20 years ago (and published in the "Call Board" of the NRHS Mohawk & Hudson Chapter) using two data sources: (1) a reprint of a 1934 NY Central marketing article provided by the now-defunct West Side Rail Development Foundation; and (2) notes taken from borrowed copies of the "New York Central Lines" magazine (no longer available, at least to me).

The 1934 reprint was later reprinted again by railroad.net http://railroad.net/articles/railfanning/westside/ and has no reference to passenger service. By elimination, the Peekskill reference and the 1917 date would therefore have come from the "New York Central Lines" magazine.

Disclaimer: As the New York Central system-wide timetable, Form 1001, used to read: "Subject to change without notice, not responsible for errors and omissions." However, once the mystery is cleared up, the WebSite will be fixed.
