Is any repair work being done on 425 during the winter months? If not, they may have those summer months set aside for annual inspection or other repairs so she will be in top form for the fall.

BTW, has the CP 4-6-0 no. 1098 moved to Port Clinton, yet?

425 is in the main locomotive shop having a new drawbar replacement being in stalled. the old one is 81 years old, they feel it has served well and needs a retirement, So they got a new one. I was talking to R&N worker one day last week when I took a visit there. Another thing interesting is that the open air coach of RTI is in the car repair shop being work on. and they have three RTI coaches on the steam shop lead track too.

1098 is in the shop building at Jim Thorpe , there is no plan for her yet.

Hey all,

Reading and Northern ran a Office Car Special July 3, 2009 with 425 pulling three business coaches from Port Clinton to Jim Thorpe, PA. We start our action at Port Clinton with 425 flying through at 30 MPH. .When they reach Tamaqua they were blasting through at 35 MPH. need less to say it looked faster from track side!
