BNSF says you cant switch jobs until you have been in a position for at least
twelve months. I have applied for two jobs. One is a railcar repair and the
other is a Special Agent. I applied for the railcar position and have a entry
level test and interview on March 15th. The special agent position closed the
20th of Feb. I spoke with a HR lady today and they haven't even processed the
Special Agent applications yet. I have a criminal justice degree with emphasis
in law enforcement and currently work as a sheriff's deputy. As you can tell
I'm more qualified for the Special Agent than the railcar repair. I don't want
to back out of the railcar repair position in hopes of getting the SA position
but I don't want to get the railcar position and not be eligiable for the SA
position. What should I do in this situation? Like I stated they have yet to
do anything on the SA position and it is a newly created position in our area
as the other SA came from about 1 hour away.
