For better or worse, It really isn't up to Congress, and it isn't about political pull. It is up to the FTA to pick the projects that have the biggest mobility return on federal investment, and part of that return is the "will you really build and operate and win patronage for this project?" part. If the state fails to win new funds it will be because its shaky finances make it look unable to deliver what it proposes.wicked wrote:Also, I'd be stunned if any significant transit project in this state gets significant federal backing (i.e. can get through Congress) for another decade or two.
