Congrats on the extension to 28A! Very impressive on how far and fast you went this season.

I was looking at where the ROW crosses 28A (on Google Maps and streetview), and on the south side of 28A there is a berm leading to a large abutment, as if there might have been a (RR?) bridge over 28A at one point, although I don't see an abutment on the other side. https://goo.gl/maps/ifW3i2BvJH1PBzWSA
Or was it some kind of way to dump some product into hopper cars, etc. What is the history on that, if you know it? JS

Thanks. If you go to historicalaerials.com, to the 1963 photo, you can see that highway bridge over the RR. And coming eastbound on 28A, there was a fairly sharp bend to the left at the bridge, which may have been a factor in wanting to do away with the bridge, as you noted. The bridge was gone in the next photo (1993).

Great work and great pictures! I like how you guys got the 401 literally as far as you could possibly go. The nose of 401 was actually sticking out in the road! Drivers must’ve been surprised to see that! :-D And correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like based on the pics that the rails/crossing are still there, just paved over?

Just paved over. They paved it just after we brought our equipment from Shokan in July 2016.

Rails are still there, and tracks are in place for 1.68 more miles to MP 10.01. We hope to get across the crossing next year.
