What might be the date on this? I have that of c.1974+ COTS: 2 part vertical lube stencils info now called Consolidated Stencils applied. Anyone know when the LIRR changed from the orange scheme with blue block (sans serif) letters to the yellow with slanted blue letters?

2 part vertical lube stencils info now called Consolidated Stencils applied are c.1974+ Hack weather beaten shot, in Sunnyside yard, Marlboro billboard may have been there for 20+ years.

When did the LIRR change from the orange scheme with blue block (sans serif) letters to the yellow with slanted blue letters?

Hack date update: Further review of photos exist of the orange/blue letters on the bay window style caboose class (N22B) as late as 1977, while others of this same class are in the MTA scheme by this date.

This class delivered as N22B #62-70 built by International Railway Car Co. in 1963. Numbered 62 to 7l, featured a bay window for better visibility; unlike N22 and N22A classes (smooth side).

Note: 2 part vertical lube stencils info now called Consolidated Stencils applied are c.1974+ and Hack weather beaten shot, in Sunnyside yard, Marlboro billboard may have been there for 20+ years.

So we are looking at a c.1974-1977 situation. It is in LI City view south toward Chicklets, etc. I place it circa 1975.

Hi all.
I been looking on an up to date roster for the N22 class.
And C-67 seems to have escaped. Is anyone here prevy to his whereabouts today? Restores? For sale? Scrapped? In service?
Last known information was That it’s location in/around
Salem VA, no other information however there is a photo from around 2000.

A little update on C-67
I found the linked photo from Joe Bracey In November 2004. From Roanoke VA.
And the correct reporting marks are RRCX (Radar Railcar Inc)
If anyone here knows anyone in the Roanoke area that might have a clue on C-67, I’d like to know, thanks.

Looks like I have some scanning to do! And I plan to add them to a new separate LIRR caboose album.
I remember a few still in orange in the mid 1970s. Will put the link on here when I finish .

First was C67 taken in May 1977
