Where is it??? It is currently rotting away in Passaic, NJ on the NY&GL.... The locomotive is too heavy, thus it can't run along the Dundee Spur street running trackage.... :(

Update on the surviving EL U34CH situation.

One is preserved by the URHS of NJ, that is EL 3372.

Only two other EL U34CH are known surviving..
the other two are EL 3367 and 3380, last known as Alstom 4167 and 4180.
these two units have done quite a bit of wandering around the last few years..

both were known to be in Mexico with Alsom around 2002-2003..
then both were spotted back in the USA around 2006..
Both were last seen, together, in April 2007 in Illinois:
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... ?id=724402

and then both were reported sold to Brazil in 2008..
currently owned by America Latina Logistica (ALL)
current status unknown..might be parts units..odds of being scrapped (or already scrapped) are quite high.
although its also possible they could be operating in Brazil..
I havent found any internet reports on their current status..
news is hard to come by from Brazil..

I just updated the EL survivors page with everything I could find,
including links to all relevant discussion threads and photos..
see Note 7 near the bottom of the page:
