Is that tall building across from the chinese buffet and next to rub n butts an old grain elevator building? I'm not sure what business is in it. it sure does look like an old grain elevator but the track next to it is elevated.

that's the former West-Nesbitt feed company, still in business until the late 70s, still had rail service til maybe 1974.

BTW, Rub'n'Butts is a former Texaco oil terminal. They'd given up on rail service by the time I started noticing stuff aroun 1969, but they did have a siding (one end of a multiple customer siding, actually).

Oh, yeah forgot to answer the rest of this.

The main line was elevated through here in the 1930s as part of a grade crossing elimination project. Sidings remained at or near their original elevations.

A volunteer committee has recently repainted the "Robin Hood Flour" sign at the main street corner in downtown Cobleskill, only a few blocks away.

Cobleskill used to be a major shipping point for buckwheat flour.
Hmmm... Maybe those folks would like to apply their talents to the coal dealer? :-)
