Are Tripods Allowed at Princeton Junction?

Post by ATKrailfan156 » Wed May 09, 2018 8:11 pm

I don't go to NJ often, so I'm not entirely sure. I was wondering because I have a generally shaky hand when it comes to filming handheld, but if they're not allowed that's fine.

Generally, I think tripods are considered "obstructions". You might also have to get a permit. I'm not familiar with NJT's photography policy, but I'm sure there's one out there.

NJ Transit allows photography on their public property. Tripods should not be set up on a platform.

I seem to recall when the whole photo ban thing was repealed the statement was tripods were OK but had to be out of the way of customers.

The railfan photo letter from Warrington in this forum does not mention tripods.
Why do we drive on parkways and park in driveways?

My 2 cents. You should be okay at PJC, just stay at one end of the platform or the other and behind the yellow line and no one should bother you. Most of the railfans that video use the east end of the outbound platform.
His train? It's MY train! I know what I'm doing, do you?

If you stay on the Trenton-bound platform, and away from the Dinky crew you should be fine at Princeton Junction.
