New SLE Timetable Effective January 2, 2014

Post by NH2060 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 7:49 pm

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but a new timetable went into effect last week with more additional trains. Here are the highlights:

Weekdays
-3 new mid AM and late PM westbound trains OSB-NHV (1649, 1659) and NLC-NHV (1699); Connects to MN trains 1549, 1559, and 1599.
-1 new early AM eastbound train (1602); No MN connection.

Weekends
-1 new late PM westbound train NLC-NHV (3699); Connects with MN 6573.
-1 new early AM eastbound train NHV-NLC (3690); Connects from MN 6502.

Here's a link to the PDF version:
http://www.shorelineeast.com/pdf/210.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This brings the total to 15 weekday and 10 weekend RTs with 2 additional westbound weekday trains and 1 additional eastbound weekend train.

And for anyone up for a real joy ride on the weekends you can leave New London @ 10:20pm, arrive in GCT @ 1:31, get back on the train 15 mins. later, and arrive in NLC @ just before 6am ;-)

The extra trains were added in November.

Surprised they're listing 1502 as a connection for 1600 and 6502 as a connection for 3690, with over an hour's layover in NHV.

Ah. Thanks for the correction. They still had the "NEW" tag above the train #s for this one.

Perhaps ConnDOT wants to see if any would-be NYC day/evening trippers would take the train to/from Guilford, OSB, NLC, etc. -without having to make an Amtrak reservation and paying the higher fare- even if it means waiting awhile for the connecting train (and getting home as the crow cocks ;-))

It sure helps with the connecting trains between New Haven and the SLE stations

One other item of note that I noticed was the introduction of new "Student Monthly" tickets. I guess there's a growing number of students who are using SLE nowadays.
