Few questions:
Why were the 1066's repairs contracted out, while 1074 is having its PM replaced in house?
Also, where is 1074's new PM coming from? Is it a new 645, or is there another donor unit? (1016 possibly?)

The T's passenger locomotives all use 645 prime movers. Only the 904 has a 567.
"The destination of this train is [BEEP BEEP]" -announcement on an Ashmont train.

I knew 645, but had a moment there and typed 567... Fixed now.MBTA3247 wrote:The T's passenger locomotives all use 645 prime movers. Only the 904 has a 567.

The 1016's prime mover is just something we should all forget about(donor-wise) because that prime mover is as dead as the loco itself. In fact, the prime mover from the 1016 is the dead one from 1010 that was changed out a couple years back when 1016 was officially retired!

1066 is at Beacon Park right now in the engine pit hooked up to a GP40-2. It will probably go north on B721

Interesting note.... 1066 still has its ghetto grills. It left the MBTA before they started taking them off.

Where do you get it still has it's grills? The photos I have show it not having them. It's repainted and has a camera installed next to the engineer side number board.
