Some disadvantages of aerial loop cable gondolas (gondola lifts):

1. Lots of people afraid of heights, aggravated by seeing the ground far down below.
2. Constant attention by employees at the platforms to load the gondolas, splitting up families and dispatching the gondolas expeditiously depending on timing to prevent gondolas backing up when entering the station.
3. Having to monitor weight of passengers and baggage going into each gondola.
4. Sweltering inside the gondola during the summer.
(To the theater stage manager) Quit twiddling the knob and flickering the lights while the audience is entering and being seated. (To the subway motorman) Quit twiddling the knob and dinging the doors while passengers are getting off and others are waiting to board.

There's a difference between looking down from a seat in an airplane--which can be avoided by booking an aisle seat--and standing on an open aerial platform with nothing between you and the ground. An impressive gap to mind.

I don't know if a gondola makes a whole lot of sense. I think that a people mover like that of Orlando airport would be the most logical choice.
