732 back in service, while 781 has now gone out to Alstom. Once the 738 finishes testing, the rebuilds for the original 50 BTCs will have been completed (with just two control cars at-large, though I'd think both of them should be back this summer if they were sent out a year ago).

Not sure if this is the appropriate topic for this, but 1722 (which has already been rebuilt) appears to have returned from repairs from Delaware and is ready to re-enter service. Kind of surprising it got out fairly quickly, it was sent to Delaware Car this year and got out before 1635 and 1812.

1716 has returned (just one more control car to return, the 1720), the 759 will be the next car to leave for Alstom.

779 was located in Everett this morning attached to a line of freight cars in front of the Boston Public Market terminal off the Eastern this morning.
I don't think I have ever seen any MBTA cars placed there by PAN AM before when returning to BET. Seamed a bit out of place.

779 back into service this week. Found it on the 8-car set used for 823, with control car 1724. It was pretty easy to pick up since it was very shiny and silver while its surrounding cars weren't.
Surprised 779 got back ahead of 738, which has been in testing since May.

1716 and 1720 have returned to service today. Saw 1716, it was surprisingly the front car (as in, directly behind the locomotive) on the 1718 8-car set. But now, all Kawasaki control cars have been rebuilt and accepted for service, and all of them will be in service once 1722 re-enters service from repairs.

Any idea when the 1709 came back? It's the only control car I don't have a return date for.

Re: Kawasaki Rebuild Program at Alstom Discussion
According to archived pages, I was able to narrow down the return of 1709 to service to around late August/early September 2017:
http://web.archive.org/web/201708221551 ... rg/roster/ (from 8/22/17, shows the 1709 in testing)
http://web.archive.org/web/201709091357 ... rg/roster/ (from 9/9/17, shows 1709 in service)
By any chance, do you know what happened with 1706? It was rebuilt and brought back to service earlier in the year, but was involved in a collision with a car at a crossing, I think in Bridgewater in either April or May. Haven't seen it on any tracking app since, but it's still listed in service. Are they holding it at BET or is it being used for non-revenue purposes at the moment?
