Sorry, but nothing really new. Im not suprised Mapquest is showing this spur. Even my Hagstrom's, just a couple of years old show this.

Trust me, there isn't any trackage there anymore. The path through the woods is just about all grown over also. But if you want to see tracks in Northport, go into the village, the trolley tracks are still there in the street.

Oh yeah, I know the tracks aren't there. I just thought it was really cool and weird that mapquest still showed them there.

I know about the Northport trolley tracks too, thanks anyway.

I am not surprised at all. A lot of map makers purposly put small inacuracies on their maps for copywrite protection. Come to think about it, there was a Rand/McNalley map that had a town listed near Syracuse called "Gobigred".

Hagstrom maps have lots of inaccuracies in their railroad trackage. Last I remember, the wye at Brookhaven Labs was still in, the spur into the old Grumman property in Calverton is still there, as well as numerous railroad stations no longer in existence.

My 1998 Suffolk County Hagstrom still has all that. Or is it 96.......
