NY Times article: The Pizza-and-Beer Train

Post by nyandw » Sat May 04, 2019 11:46 pm

Posted over at the NYA RR forum, but perhaps of interest/relevant to LIRR interest/history:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/07/nyre ... t-nyc.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Take a look at:

View of the yard east from the Bridge #35 center span. :-)
Approaching the BMT overpass with POND at the far right on the west wye leg from the cab view. :-)
Useless photos of typical turnouts and blue STOP safety signs, duh. How does this enrich the article or make it relevant to the typical non-rail reader? :-(

Question: What engine(s) are the cab interior photos from? Thanks.
