Do you meant the 3rd track from Floral Park to Hicksville or

Do you mean the 2nd track from Farmingdale to Ronkonkoma?

There are already existing threads on both

Before you go on both threads:

-The only pieces of evidence of a third Mainline track from Floral Park to Hicksville is a signal gantry was taken down and replaced with pedestal signals, and ballast work just West near Track 1 at Hicksville.

-For the Double Track project of the Ronkonkoma Branch, the entire second track has been laid from Farmingdale to Ronkonkoma. Third rail has been installed to 95% of the new track, construction continues at PInelawn and Wyandanch, work is being done at what was once KO Interlocking but is now POND so now KO is located to the East into the yard. New switches have been put in place, new pedestal signals (look like traffic lights that you see for PTC), and finally the only areas that aren't connected are at FARM and BRENT.

I'm glad to hear that about the 2nd track between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma! I am looking forward to the benefits of that much needed second track.

There's really not that much left to do, but they need to put railing at Pinelawn and platform lights at Pinelawn and Wyandanch. I also forgot to mention that the following areas (some I'm repeating) have not had the second track connected.

-BRENT at Brentwood.
-JS at Deer Park.
-FARM in between Farmingdale and Pinelawn at the sight of the former Republic station.

If you are traveling from Ronkonkoma to Penn Station the train will do the following:

-Go through POND on the linear track to the North of the main running track that now runs through Pond Road where the new track is connected.
-Travel through the new switch that goes from the new track to the already existing track.
-Stop at Central Islip at Platform B.
-Run on the new track through the new Central Islip Interlocking where it switches to the track that has always been in service.
-Normal from there on.
